COLUMBIA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE is a unique community dedicated to helping students learn to live an abundant Christian life. The College's aim is to produce faith in God and understanding which lead to personal maturity.
COLUMBIA'S dedication to the abundant Christian life requires a reordering of the normal academic purposes. Fundamental to COLUMBIA'S existence as a college is a strong belief in the intrinsic value of a liberal arts education. But COLUMBIA considers how one lives more important than mere memorization of facts. The College is concerned with how one provides for self and family, how one relates to friends and associates, and how one will spend eternity.
Dr. Paul R. Piersall, Director
Directing the Columbia Christian College Chorus is Dr. Paul R. Piersall, chairman of the Humanities Division of the College. In addition to directing Columbia's music programs, Dr. Piersall is a noted singer himself. He is a frequent bass soloist for the Cascade Symphony, Central Washington State College Chorus and Orchestra, Eugene Symphony, Portland Symphonic Choir, Oregon Schola Cantorum, and the University of Oregon Opera Society. In 1968 he was the winner of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions in the Inland Empire District.
He has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Central Washington State College; Master of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from the same college; and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in performance and music history from the University of Oregon.
